Deoful is an old English word for Devil, which is tribute to the Duvel style strain of yeast used to ferment it. The Duvel style strain of yeast is also vigorous and unrelenting. The finishing gravity was an incredibly low zero degrees, so the brewer figured it could be used to calibrate her instruments. Be aware, this is a very high alcohol beer. Its pear, peach, and pink apple aromas and flavors should not be confused with residual sugar sweetness; they are estery byproducts of fermentation. Only brewed once per year, this is a staff favorite.
